DAY 1:

Arrive, Explore Havana and Get to Know Muraleando

Arriving in Havana, we’ll hit the ground running with an exploration of the city’s colonial plazas and famous seaside boardwalk, the Malecón. Afterwards, head over to the nearby neighborhood of Lawton to meet with the folks at Muraleando, the community art program. We’ll meet some of the children and artists involved, and enjoy dinner with the local community tonight. (L,D)

DAY 2:

Explore the Colonial Architecture of Cienfuegos

Hit the road to Cienfuegos, visiting the historic site of the Bay of Pigs invasion along the way. This French colonial town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its beauty and architecture. Enjoy lunch in the city followed by a guided tour along the wide boulevards and seafront promenade, before a private performance from a traditional Cienfuegos guitar ensemble. Enjoy free time in the city followed by a dinner in town. (B,L,D)

DAY 3:

Guided Tour of Trinidad and Salsa Dancing Class

A guided tour takes us through the colorful alleyways of Trinidad, where the sound of horses’ hooves drifts through the air and Spanish buildings line tropical plazas. We’ll learn a few steps at a private salsa class, before dinner on your own in the Plaza Mayor, which comes to life each evening with live music and dance. (B,L,D)

DAY 4: NEW YEARS EVE!

After fresh Cuban coffee and breakfast, head to San Francisco de Paula, the neighborhood that Ernest Hemingway once called home. Tour Hemingway’s house and see firsthand where he wrote some of his most famous novels. Afterwards, dive into Havana’s vibrant music scene with a presentation from a local Afro-Cuban dance troupe, and learn some basic salsa moves. In the afternoon, we take a guided tour of the imposing churches, cobbled streets and colonial architecture of Old Havana. In the evening, enjoy a traditional jazz café and a special New Year's Eve Dinner.  We'll welcome the New Year Cuban-style!

DAY 5:

Say Goodbye to Muraleando, and Explore the Squares of Old Havana

On your last full day in Havana, continue your exploration of the old town before ending up at legendary bar Sloppy Joe’s, a favorite of Prohibition-era Americans – here, you can learn how to whip up classic cocktails including the mojito. After lunch, explore Cuba’s contemporary art scene at the Museum of Fine Arts, shop for handicrafts and souvenirs, and enjoy a farewell dinner overlooking Old Havana and the Caribbean.

DAY 6:

Return Home

Today sadly sees Your Havana adventure come to an end. After enjoying breakfast together, say Your goodbyes then head back to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
